KIDZ Model in Major Feature Film

KIDZ LTD (MODEL AND CASTING AGENCY) PRESENT AARON THOMAS CHILD STAR OF FORTHCOMING BLOCKBUSTER 'HANNIBAL RISING'

Kidz Limited from Manchester have bases throughout the UK and children working in TV, Films as Extras and main parts and in photographic modelling. It can be hard work and there are lots of procedures to follow when dealing with children, particularly when working abroad, but for the lucky few it can lead to the job of a lifetime.

Aaran Thomas from Bristol completed filming the early life scenes of Hannibal Lecter early last year, he was chosen from thousands of hopefuls for his immense talent, as will be seen and for his strong resemblance of  Gasbard Ulliel  who plays Hannibal as a young man in the film.

Along with his sister's India and Iona, Aaran has been represented by Kidz Model Agency  who have bases in London, Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham and Newcastle for 5 years. The children all get work regularly and their first few week with the agency saw them jetting off to film a documentary/commerial in Dubai. The family are all hugely talented, have regular drama lessons and Aaran was ecstatic at landing such a prestigious role.

Kathy from Kidz says' The whole family are very talented and work really well both together and individually. We are expecting many opportunities and scripts for Aaran once the film is released. I think Aaran will be a huge star '

Aaran and his mum Caroline  were flown out to Prague for filming and his mum said:

We had an excellent time, there were tears of sadness on the last day of  filming, Aaran just loved every bit of it.  We were treated really well, we had our own personal trailer for Aaran to relax in or have his schooling in between scenes there was food of all descriptions available at all times when on set ,but if Aaran fancied something different or a little special, then  it was produced, (the pancakes were especially appreciated).
We were accommodated in a trendy apartment inside a lovely hotel, so we could use the facilities of the hotel as well as hang out in our own trendy pad. Niall (dad) came out twice for a few days,  also Aarans sisters came to stay for half term week .All were welcomed on set, Peter Webber (director) gave the girls a personal tour of the set. All flights for the family were paid for with drivers meeting all visitors at the airport and whisking them to the appartment..  We went on location to a beautiful castle out in the countryside of Prague, and also filmed half and half outside in a forest or in the huge studios.

All the crew were just great, although I think Aaran got on better with all the blokes on set he just became one of the gang.

It was every little boys dream as he had to look more and more disheveled as the film went on ,yes he was allowed to look a mess, then he got to do a fight scene with a huge boars spear, he was also involved in seeing a real life plane crash into a real war tank, the explosion was awesome!!!!! He also got to ride through the forest in the tank with him popping out of the top of  it.  As he was involved in scenes with soldiers there were lots of very realistic machine guns hanging about, this was too much of a temptation and Aaran was usually found pretend shooting everyone on set!!! !!  Aaran got off lightly as regards hours in makeup ,he was allowed to look himself  but just get scruffier and dirtier day by day .On his last day of filming (we were out in the forest which had to be sprayed with artificial snow) Aaran was sad but they presented him with the boars spear for him to keep and had a special ride in the army tank. He still talks about some of the crew, those that he got close to.He has been up to London a couple of times since the end of filming to do some voice over work which is a lot more difficult than it looks, but very very interesting procedure. Now that we both understand how a film is put together we watch other films in a different light. It was a wonderful 7 weeks, Aaran would love to do another one and the cast and crew seemed to be sure that they would meet him again on the set of another film in the future. FINGERS CROSSED

Kidz Limited are also keen to advise parents on the pros and cons of the industry and work closely with Katie Froud from ALBA  who campaigns relentlessly for the reintroduction of regulations for agents and anyone involved in the casting and photography industry. Details about alba can be found on www.albamodel.info
Katie has appeared regularly on programmes such as GMTV and in many news articles and as a guest speaker at shows around the UK.

Kidz are also active in the campaign to change the licensing procedure required for children as this can be and is interpreted differently by Education authorities all over the country. We have details of current lobbying to establish a fairer, more workable procedure for both industry professionals and parents and Authorities alike
